Tony McManus – Mental Health Mentor

Tony McManus is a Mental Health Mentor and advocate who brings a powerful combination of lived experience, practical understanding and genuine connection with people working in construction and other traditionally male-dominated environments. Tony understands that asking for help can be difficult, particularly on a construction site where mental health concerns may still be met with stigma, silence or the attitude of “just toughen up.” His approach is simple: create a safe, non-judgemental space where workers can talk openly, recognise when something isn’t right and take action before a situation escalates. Tony’s personal experience of mental health challenges and suicide has given him a deep understanding of the importance of early intervention, connection and having someone who is prepared to listen.

Tony works directly with workers and site teams to increase mental health awareness, challenge stigma and encourage a culture where looking after your mental health is viewed as a strength, not a weakness. His Mental Health Mentoring service provides a practical, approachable and confidential point of connection on site — helping workers recognise the warning signs, have the conversations that can be difficult to start and connect with appropriate professional support when required. Book a Mental Health Mentor for your site and give your people an opportunity to talk, be heard and take the first step towards better mental health.

Tony can be booked as your sites Mental Health Mentor. Contact Tony today.
